Eva Hornyáková

The sopranist Eva Hornyáková is an extraordinary phenomenon on the Czech and Slovak opera scene. Her unique color voice timbre is inimitable. She is also very popular on national concert stages as well as on the international ones. In 2006, she made her stage debut at the Opera of the Slovak National Theater as Countess Almaviva in Mozart´s opera The Marriage of Figaro. She participated in the semifinals and finals of competitions in Athens, Bayreuth, Milan or Vienna. Her repertoire includes major roles in operas by Puccini, Verdi, Dvořák, Smetana and Mozart. For the role of Marguerite in Gounod´s opera Faust, she won the Opera Critics’ Award of the magazine Hudební život. She performed on famous stages in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland and the United Kingdom. She also performed at the Prague Spring Festival and Smetana’s Litomyšl. She cooperated with many famous artists such as José Cura or Adam Plachetka, conductors Jakub Hrůša, Serge Baude, Petr Altrichter and Emmanuel Villaume and with orchestras like Staatskapelle Dresden, Czech Philharmonic, FOK, Slovak Philharmonic and Dutch Radio Orchestra. Eva Hornyáková is currently at the top of her singing skills both in opera and on concert stages.
